I explore spatial representation, form, and the notion of a fixed moment in time within a photograph.

Using appropriated photographic imagery as my medium, I employ cutting to subtract or obscure the original context from the pictures that I am drawn to, which are usually found in used books and magazines.

The pose of the figure or the staging of the object, appeals to me more than the subject themselves; it is the visual codes and conventions within the frame that interests me most.

These remnants are then layered and spliced into unplanned arrangements that visualise themes from my unconscious thoughts, memories and imagination.

Finally, I re-photograph these collaged interventions, returning them to a semblance of their original form, but where the boundary between the real and the imagined has become blurred.
